Beaches
Punta Kriza or Cape Cross Beach
Punta Kriza Beach or Cape Cross Beach is the
most popular gay beach on the Istrian peninsula.
During peak-season July and August the beach
can be pretty crowded with about 500 visitors
at the same time from all around Europe and
the world. The beach can be found some kilometers
north of Rovinj and north of camping-site Amarin,
in direction of Valalta camping-site and the
Lim-fjord. To get there you can drive to Amarin
camping-site and park on the parking-lot in
front of the reception. Behind the parking there
is a small dirt road. You can also drive on
the dirt road, cross the forest and park your
car close to the improvised restaurants. From
there it is a little bit shorter walking distance
to the beach. You will recognize the gay area
of the beach by the number of male visitors.
At Punta Kriza Beach there are mostly gay couples
and singles but also groups of friends in all
ages.
Crveni otok or Red Island
The beach can be found on Crveni otok, just
outside Rovinj. Rent a boat and go by yourself
or take the boat from Rovinj harbor. The boat
is leaving regularly and costs approximately
10 HRK.
